Tommy Breen
Chairman
Former DCC PLC Chief Executive, Tommy Breen played a key role in growing the energy & technology business from a small Irish company to a FTSE100 business with a >£6bn market cap. Later, as the HomeServe Chairman, he oversaw a successful sale to Brookfield achieving an enterprise valuation of over £5 billion. Now Chairman of Hometree, his expertise drives the company’s expansion in residential energy solutions.
Simon Phelan
Hometree, CEO and Founder
Simon founded Hometree in 2015 having recognised the need for a new type of energy services business to help people decarbonise their homes. Simon has led the business from a start-up in his bedroom in North London, to a 250+ person scale-up with 100k+ customers across the UK, whilst raising over £85m from world-class investors. Before Hometree, Simon spent 5 years in private equity working for leading investor Jon Moulton at the listed fund Better Capital. Simon has a BAI in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering and a BA in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin.
David Maclean
Hometree, CFO
David is the CFO where he is responsible for the financial strategy of the Group including corporate finance, financial planning, accounting and tax, as well as covering our regulatory requirements. David has more than 20 years experience in finance and leadership roles in banking and insurance including market leaders, Barclays, Metrobank and Revolut. He has also worked at leading insurers Catlin and Sompo Canopius. David has a BA in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford.
Nazo Moosa
Managing Partner, Energy Impact Partners
Nazo Moosa is the Managing Partner at Energy Impact Partners, directing the firm’s €3 billion investment strategy in Europe, driving the global energy transition. With two decades of experience in technology investment, including leadership roles at C5 Capital and Carlyle Technology Partners Europe, she’s an expert in decarbonising the economy. Nazo holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Summa Cum Laude BA in International Economics from UCLA.
Rahul Parekh

Rahul Parekh is a pivotal member of 2150, a pioneering venture capital firm focused on technology companies revolutionising urban environments sustainably. As a seasoned entrepreneur and former CEO of EatFirst, his strategic vision drives impactful investments. As a board member at Hometree, Rahul is committed to contributing to its mission of decarbonising homes by investing in innovative energy solutions. His dedication to sustainability extends to personal commitments, such as transitioning to 100% renewable energy at home.
Andrew Rendel
Director, Legal & General Capital
Andrew oversees the origination and execution of clean energy equity investments across both infrastructure and growth companies at Legal and General Capital, the principal investing arm of L&G plc. Working in the renewable and new energy markets, Andrew specialises in delivering creative, innovative finance, funding and strategic solutions for corporate and project needs. His background is in the energy and infrastructure financing space with previous roles at firms such as Royal Bank of Scotland, Alexa Capital and Temporis Capital.
Daniel Edgerley
Investment Director, Inven Capital
Daniel Edgerley is the Investment Director at Inven Capital, a European VC fund focused on later-stage investments in climate tech. Daniel’s past experience is in private equity, telecommunications, business valuations, and restructuring. Previously, Daniel was an Investment Manager at Nordic Investors and he held roles at Ernst & Young, Vodafone and the Financial Services Authority. He has a BCs & MSc from the University of Bath in Maths and Economics.
Guy Ward Thomas
Partner, DN Capital
Guy is Hometree’s longest-serving investor director – having led the company’s seed round in 2017. He is a Partner at DN Capital, a global venture firm, based in London, Berlin and San Francisco focusing on Seed, Series A and Series B opportunities across Europe and North America. Before joining DN Capital he was at OC&C Strategy Consultants, and he graduated with a degree and masters from Cambridge University.

Hometree’s subscription model appealed because of the potential to reach customers who might begin looking for support to replace their outdated gas boilers in the coming years.
