Hometree’s New Partnership with Legal & General’s Mortgage Club
A 2022 survey found that around 70% of people in the UK used a mortgage broker when buying a property. With 60,000 brokers across the country, Legal & General’s Mortgage Club is the largest and longest-running mortgage club and has access to thousands of new homeowners every year. So we’re thrilled to announce our latest strategic partnership as the latest Referral Pro Partner for L&G’s Mortgage Club.
Hometree offers comprehensive heating, energy and home emergency breakdown cover to homeowners and landlords across the UK – but connecting to people can sometimes be a challenge. To keep our cover prices down we don’t waste millions of pounds on TV, Radio and newspaper advertising – Instead we rely on word of mouth, offering great value on leading comparison sites and building quality partnerships.
And it’s the partnerships we want to talk about today. Our latest partnership demonstrates that Hometree is set to continue to reach even more people across the UK.
L&G’s Mortgage Club is involved in nearly 30% of all UK-brokered mortgages. Through this new partnership, L&G brokers up and down the country will now have the opportunity to offer Hometree’s services to their clients. This means first-time buyers, established homeowners and buy-to-let landlords will have access to our home emergency insurance products, giving them added peace of mind as they turn their new house into a home.
Mortgage clients who sign up for Hometree cover through their L&G broker will benefit from a special 10% discount. The discount applies across all our comprehensive Hometree plans meaning customers can choose a plan to suit their exact needs, budget and circumstances.
Hometree’s Head of Commercial Operations & Partnerships Mark McAuley, said “We’re delighted to be working with the L&G’s Mortgage Club as an approved Referral Pro Partner. When moving to a new home or remortgaging, you want to be covered for any issues with key systems like heating or plumbing. It’s great to see that Brokers can now help their clients by referring them to Hometree. These new customers will now join over 100,000 homeowners we already look after.”
Legal & General have been championing Hometree for a while. In 2023, L&G Capital invested £15 million into a series of businesses, including Hometree, each dedicated to decarbonising UK homes. Now, every Hometree client with a cover plan also receives access to financing options for lower-carbon or zero-carbon home energy solutions. By introducing more people to our home cover services, we are helping to put more people on the track to decarbonisation when they are ready and able.
This exciting new partnership marks another significant milestone in Hometree’s growth journey and is another step towards helping the UK hit its net zero commitments.
