Will the Ideal Logic+ Combi 24 be suitable for my home?

The Ideal Logic+ 24 has a lot to boast about but how does it stand against its competitors? As an entry-level boiler within its product range, the Logic+ 24 is highly efficient with a central heating output of 24kW and flowrate of 9.9 litres/minute, which is perfect for a flat or smaller house.

It’s always best to check with one of our engineers whether this boiler will be suitable for your property, especially when looking at your water usage and how many bedrooms and bathrooms you have. As a rule of thumb, though, we recommend this boiler for properties with one bathroom and up to 3 bedrooms. The Ideal Logic+ range has also been awarded a Quiet Mark certificate for their effort to make their boilers as quiet as possible.

Controls

The Ideal Logic+ 24 comes with a standard control panel, featuring mechanical dials and an easy-to-use small digital display, which is used to display faults within the boiler that can be diagnosed by an engineer. Unlike some other boilers on the market, the controls remain on full display rather than being hidden behind a flap. You do have the option of adding other controls to the boiler such as an Ideal Weather Compensation kit and various Digital Thermostats.

Size

The Logic+ boiler’s compact size is a great selling point if you need the boiler fitted into a standard kitchen cupboard. The boiler measures at 700x395x278mm, so if you’re afraid of a lack of space for your new boiler, you will be in safe hands with the Logic+ range.

Warranty

Ideal offer a 7-year warranty on their Logic+ range, which covers both parts and labour. They advise that you register your boiler within 30 days to take advantage of the warranty. Our engineers are happy to advise you on extended warranty options that are available. Repair and maintenance of their boilers is a lot easier since Ideal is based within the UK, so getting hold of parts won’t be a problem.

Energy Efficiency

The ErP directive was introduced in 2015 as part of the EU’s joint effort to reduce carbon emissions. Due to the introduction of ErP, every boiler or energy product on the EU market is thoroughly tested and given a rating depending on their energy efficiency. The labelling on products will make it easier for customers to make an energy efficient purchase and to ensure all products meet energy performance criteria. The Logic+ is highly efficient with a 94% ErP rating, which is an A grade for efficiency.

Verdict

Ideal have achieved a lot over the last century, right from their first British boiler, the Ideal Cookanheat, through to their latest Logic+ and Logic ranges. The Logic+ 24 is a showcase of modern technology to improve not only their efficiency as a unit but also their energy output. The Logic+ is small in size and supports a wide range of controls, which makes it the perfect fit for for properties with one bathroom and up to 3 bedrooms.
